The wait lengthens for Sherlock series 4

Sometimes it feels like if Steven Moffat isn't breaking our hearts one way, he's bound to break it with another.

Although Sherlock fans may have gotten used to the painfully long wait between new episodes (gotten used to...not enjoyed), the latest news from Moffat - that Sherlock's 4th season won't even begin filming until spring of 2016 - is hitting hard.

Whether or not the delay is due to the growing demand for Benedict and Martin remains to be seen, but an Entertainment Weekly writer was able to confirm that Martin joining the lineup for the next Captain America movie wouldn't interfere with series 4. Maybe Moffat just has something else up to his sleeve.

At least we have the Victorian Christmas special to look forward to. Fingers crossed that it's about five hours long...that would hold us over.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell teaser

And when we say teaser...we mean teaser.

BBC has long since sold us on all its ventures. When we heard a while back that a Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell miniseries, based on the hefty but delicious book by Susanna Clarke, was in the works, we were cautiously excited. Well, all the sudden (two years later), we have our first hard-and-fast teaser.

For those of you who are understandably lost, here's how Wikipedia sums up the series, which is set to debut this summer:

Set in England during the Industrial Revolution at the beginning of the 19th century, the series presents an alternate history where magic is widely acknowledged, but rarely practiced. Living in the rural north, Mr Norrell (Eddie Marsan) of Hurtfew Abbey is able to make the statues of York Cathedral talk and move. His manservant John Childermass (Enzo Cilenti) persuades him to travel to London to help in the war against France. While there, Mr Norrell encounters a leading member of the government and makes magic respectable in the realm when he conjures a fairy to bring the minister's fiancée (Alice Englert) back to life.
I personally really enjoyed the book and am excited to see how the premise - with some of its slower exposition - translates on TV. What about you guys? Any concerns?

Comedian Craig Ferguson, longtime Whovian, as the mediator of today's panel. The 50th Anniversary Episode will be the last episode of Matt Smith as the Doctor. Rumors are still floating around as who will become the 12th Doctor, but no official hints have been dropped by Moffat or anyone at BBC. We're sure they will keep the identity of the next Doctor under lock and key.
