Ant-Man has arrived...and our excitement is not small scale!

I have been awaiting Ant-Man for a LONG time. I have enjoyed all the hype and unique marketing techniques deployed by Marvel, and now the time has finally arrived to see this small scale superhero on the big screen. Now, this is just my reaction to the movie, but I'll do my best to keep out any spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet.

Batman v. Superman synopsis

While it doesn't say anything we probably couldn't have figured out watching (rewatching, more like) the trailer, Warner Bros has given us our first official synopsis for DC's make-or-break Batman V Superman film:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Released neck and neck with the news that Marvel won't be hosting a panel at SDCC, fans are naturally wondering if DC is going to step up to bat and give us some juicy tidbits about the movie that's kind of taken a backseat to Suicide Squad in recent weeks. What do you think? Will DC get their momentum back up at SDCC? Can we expect an exclusive clip?

Trailer Round-up

With summer almost upon us, it's time for another round-up of new movie/TV trailers and clips!

See the rest below the cut.

Trailer roundup

You can tell movie season is upon us, can't you? We can barely keep up with all the clips - let alone trailers. Below the cut you'll find the last week-and-a-half's worth, for those who might have missed one!

Beauty and the Beast casting update

Casting announcements have been coming hard and fast for Disney's upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast, so we thought it was time for a quick catch-up. Even though there's sure to be more exciting announcements (Can we cross our fingers for Patrick Stewart as Lumiere? I just want to see him and McKellen bickering in hoity-toity accents), here's what we've got to look forward to so far:

Emma Watson as Belle

Dan Stevens as the Beast

Luke Evans as Gaston

Ian McKellen as Cogsworth

 Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts

Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette

Josh Gad as Le Fou

Kevin Kline as Maurice

Audra McDonald as Madame de la Grande Bouche

What do you think? Dream cast? And what classic Disney tale do you think they should tackle next?

New movie trailer roundup

Alright. We've got a lot of catching up to do on trailers. It feels like movie news has hit hard and fast this last week, and with so much going on with MyGeekery - the new site, trying to get the blog rolling, plus a sudden surge of orders (thanks, guys! We don't know where you're coming from, but thanks!) - we haven't had much time to trailer binge.

Let's remedy that! Here are all the trailers and spots from the last week, give or take, that have caught our eye...

The Avengers countdown begins.

With just 38 days to go until Avengers: Age of Ultron hits the US, we at MyGeekery have been tossing our theories (some rooted in the comics, some simply the product of hopes and dreams and way too much investment of the characters of the MCU) back and forth with more and more slightly-crazed enthusiasm. It says something about Marvel (and the genius of Joss Whedon), that after a half-dozen TV spots and trailers and Odin knows how many veiled hints from AoU's cast and crew, a couple spoiler-sniffers like us still can't be 100% positive what's headed our way...
